Find Cheap Gas Using Mobile Phone

A long time ago, you might have to drive around a few blocks or a few streets to compare the gas prices to find out which station offers the cheapest gas. However, the downside is while you are driving around to check out the prices, you have already burnt most of the fuel in your car so you end up on the losing side.

However, there is an easy way to check out the cheapest gas price by using your mobile phone. All you need to do is:

1. Go to GasRunner.com using your mobile phone.

2. Enter your zip code and click ‘go’.

3. You will get to see all the cheapest gas stations within 20 mile radius in your area.

4. Click on ‘map it’ to navigate using Google Maps.

It is as simple as that. No more driving around all the streets to search for the cheapest gas in your area. Using the technology, you can find out within minutes.

Gas Runner is a mobile-optimized website to help drivers to save money by locating the cheapest gas station in their area within 20 mile radius. There are about 300 stations included in this service. It is not quite comprehensive yet but the team at Gas Runner is aiming at the metropolitan markets so if you can’t benefit from this tool yet, you will be covered soon.

Hydrogen Fuel Cells

Hydrogen fuel cells arealternative energy sources. There are studies to consider using fuel cells in cars. Hydrogen fuel cells are popular as it is time for another great energy source rather than being dependant on gas. Electricity might be another good option but at the moment Hydrogen fuel cells are the big bombs.

Hydrogen fuel cells are like traditional batteries. There is a chemical reactions that can produce electricity and electrical charge. The only difference is that the batteries are able to generate power if there is a continuous supply of hydrogen.

The size of the cell and the hydrogen flow will determine the electricity production. The chemical reaction between air and hydrogen there are three things that will be produced. One is the heat, then water and finally electricity. The cell will reduce heat production.

The advantage of using Hydrogen fuel cells is that the byproducts are heat and water only. These byproducts are not harmful to the environment. The efficiency is between 45 – 53% as compared to gasoline with only 20% of efficiency rate.

The size of the fuel can be changed according to the needs. We can create small cells for MP3 player and larger size to generate power for cars or even the whole town. The main thing is to utilize the cells to generate power for the cars.

Countries around the world are looking for a cleaner fuel and I believe that Hydrogen fuel cells have a good chance to establish as the popular fuel source everywhere in the future. Even car manufaturers are researching on how to integrate hydrogen fuel cells into their cars.

Gas Mileage Improvements Right Now!

Gas mileage improvements won’t lower the cost of gasoline, but it can have a similar effect – paying less money for gas!

There are many simple things you can to to improve your gas mileage, many of them common sense. For instance, insuring your car is driving as efficiently as possible.

Among many ways to make your car or truck more efficient is to have your tires properly inflated (low tire pressure causes extra drag), and having your engine tuned-up (checking engine timing and replacing worn or dirty spark plugs). Read the rest of this entry

The Most Bizarre Way To Save Money

Some people survive on bread to save money. Others trying to catch a public transportation to save fuel. The point is, many of us are struggling daily to find ways to cut down our expenses and especially to cut down the fuel consumption since the fuel has gone more than $4 / gallon.

Here I go, the most bizarre way to save money and fuel. Instead of driving to the church, have the church delivered to you.

This sounds like a joke. Ok, it is a joke anyway. After all so many people wants to save money, why not stay at home and have the church comes to you.

It is actually a suggestion from a man who has to drive to church and one day while he was driving to the church, he had this strange thought.

So whenever you need a confession, you can have someone to drive the church to you. If only it can be true, which of course it will remain as a dream.

Driving Tips For Saving Fuel

Many people try to avoid driving so that they can save on fuel. However, not everyone can live without driving. Maybe you need to drive to work, to pick up your children from school or maybe even go out of town. The best way to save fuel under these circumstances is to learn the skills of driving efficiently.

1. Drive with sensible

Do not speed when driving. When you accelerate or emergency braking, you will use more fuel thus lower your car mileage.

Remember this rule:

speed = more fuel usage = low mileage

2. Keep it at 60mph

If you can drive at an average of 60mph, you will be able to save fuel consumption. However, if you drive exceeding this limit, you can expect to pay an additional $0.30 per gallon for gas. I am sure you would not want to pay more for fuel.

3. Throw away unnecessary items

Do not keep too many items in the car especially junks such as unnecessary tools or rubbish. These items can make the car heavier and need more fuel to generate the power to move the car forward.

4. Don’t leave your engine idling

You might think that leaving the engine idling for a few minutes won’t do any harm to your wallet but it is the culprit that cause you to fill up the gas all the time.

By following these simple rules, you can expect to save more than you think. All you need to do is to learn to implement these steps in your life and you can even the slightest significance through your wallet.

How Cars Run on Water?

We have heard that cars can run on water. Do you know how cars can run on water? I am sceptical about this issue so I have been digging around and found that the main component that makes it possible for cars to run on water is Hydrogen.

Hydrogen is one of the compound of water. It is the fuel in water-fuelled cars. Using the hydrogen for fuel doesn’t make the vehicle a steam engine.

The only thing is that water is a very stable and very unlikely to have any reactions so a chemical must be added to the water so that the car can run on water but the point is, water is not the fuel in this case. How can we use water as fuel? The only way is through Electrolysis.

Electrolysis is a process of a current of power is sent through the water to separate the bond. The hydrogen then from the compound of 2 Hydrogen and 1 Oxygen, is used as the energy source. It takes a lot of power to separate the bond.

The latest breakthrough is to separate the compound of water into HHO or also known as Brown’s Gas and also Hydroxy. It is said that HHO is more potent than Gasoline. This is because when the water molecule is separated, it created a two and one half times more powerful than gasoline. This makes water a clean and powerful fuel.

At the moment, you can find that there are many sites offering the service to transform your car engine into water-fuelled engine. While some of them seem to be scam but most of them are real and you should give it a try if you want to save on fuel and save more money.

Magnet Can Help in Fuel Saving?

The fuel in US cost an average $4.1124 starting from July 11, which was an increase of 1.52 cents per gallon. This is definitely going to drive us crazy but there is a new discovery about magnets being able to help save fuel consumption.

Apparently, magnetic field has been used to improve the combustion of fuel dated back in the 1940s. This remarkable discovery is made by two Nobel Prize winners, Felix Bloch and Edward Mills Purcell in 1952 for their work in the magnetic field.

How can you save fuel with just using magnets?

One way is by attaching a magnet to the fuel lead pipe of your burner. The magnet allow a greater combustion thus produce more heat. If you have a very old boiler, you might want to install a magnet before you buy a new boiler.

Another advantage is by using the magnet to improve combustion, it means cleaner burn and it minimize the needs of servicing the boiler. Your boiler can last longer. While the magnet improve combustion of the engine, you get more mileage per gallon and a smoother running engine.

This may be a crazy idea but who knows whether it works or not if you don’t give it a try.

You get a cleaner engine, more mileage and save more money just by using a magnet that can last up to 100 years if it is a good magnet.

The Benefits of Carpooling

Carpooling is one of the ways to save fuel. Although this is not popular but it is slowly gaining recognition from people who feel the pain of paying large sum of money for the non-edible oil. When you first started on carpooling, I am sure you cannot adapt well to the change but as time goes by, I am sure you will get used to it and perhaps enjoy it. There are five reasons why you should try carpooling.

1. Save the environment

Cars emit Carbon Dioxide when they burn the fuel. When you carpool, there will be less cars on the road, thus less emission of Carbon Dioxide. Carbon Dioxide is also the major gas that cause the Green House effect that causes Global Warming.

2. Save money

Imagine having to fork out about $50 to fill up the tank. What if you divide that same amount with four people who carpool with you. The amount would be $12.50 one person. So, everyone has saved $37.50 in total. Imagine if there are more people who carpool with you?

3. Less traffic congestion

Carpool is a way to decrease the number of cars on the road, thus effectively decrease traffic jams too. The road will be less congested and you will have a smoother journey to work. Imagine some people have to wake up at 6am to get to work before 8am, which usually will only take 20 minutes to reach if the road is clear.

4. Save on parking fees

If you have a car, you will have to pay for parking. These people are very smart when it comes to earning money so one of the fees you need to pay in your life is the parking fees. Usually parking bays are charged according to hours but there are some parking lots that offers season pass, in which you have to pay a sum every month instead of paying everyday. When you carpool, you can divide the cost with your carpool mates.

5. Socialize with people

When you drive alone, you are alone. When you carpool, you have people talking to you in the car or perhaps discuss about work, life or even the latest world issues. It is fun to have friends riding with you and the best thing is you can rotate drivers everyday. When it is not your turn to drive, you can spend more time taking a nap or preparing for the morning meeting.
